David May, owner and CEO of Pogona Creative (a digital marketing company) and Director of Web and Interactive Marketing for Chapman University, was honored with Representative John Campbell's Congressional Award for " Leadership in Business" in April, 2014.  David would like to thank Sinan Kanatsiz of KCOMM for nominating him, and the Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC) Web team at Chapman University for their tireless work on Chapman's digital marketing.  David has led Chapman University's Web and Interactive Marketing team since May of 2011.

Each of these individuals have worked to transform Chapman's website, social media presence, and digital marketing dramatically in the last 3 years.  Before May of 2011, Chapman's web technology was nearly a decade old, and social media/blogs were dispersed and disorganized.  Chapman's website is now built with cutting-edge technology, has been optimized for search engines, and has been refreshed with a modern, inviting design.  Chapman also now enjoys top-notch social media (Sheri Lehman named by Eric Stoller as one of the top 20 pros to follow), a dynamic blog network, and a growing presence in the open source community.

In addition to the contributions of the "web team," the growth Chapman has experienced in digital marketing would not be possible with the trust and support of Chapman President James L. Doti, EVP of University Advancement Sheryl A. Bourgeois, Ph.D., and V.P. of Marketing Mark Woodland.  Chapman's web team is also supported greatly by Chapman University alumni and digital marketing professionals like Sinan Kanatsiz.
